WASHINGTON, Apr 5: US President Donald Trump issued a sharp warning to Iran in a post on the social media platform Truth Social, threatening severe consequences and calling for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
In his post, Trump warned that Iran would face major action if tensions continue to escalate, stating that the country “will be living in hell,” according to his message shared on Tuesday.
He also referred to the day as “Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day” in Iran, while urging authorities to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a vital global shipping route through which a significant portion of the world’s oil trade passes.
The comments come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing concerns over maritime security in the Gulf, with the Strait of Hormuz remaining a key flashpoint in the broader geopolitical standoff.
No official response from Iranian authorities was immediately available regarding Trump’s remarks.
