WASHINGTON, Apr 8: US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the United States would work closely with Iran following what he described as a “productive regime change,” adding that there would be no uranium enrichment under any future arrangement.
“There will be no enrichment of uranium,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social, adding that the US would assist in removing what he called deeply buried nuclear material.
He claimed the sites had been under “very exacting satellite surveillance” and that “nothing has been touched” since the attack.
Trump also indicated that Washington would discuss potential tariff and sanctions relief with Iran, saying that “many of the 15 points have already been agreed to.”
50% tariffs on countries supplying weapons to Iran
In a separate statement, Trump warned that the United States would impose steep tariffs on any country supplying military weapons to Iran.
“A country supplying military weapons to Iran will be immediately tariffed … 50%,” he said on Truth Social, adding that there would be “no exclusions or exemptions.”
