WASHINGTON, July 20: U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States carried out another round of heavy strikes against Iran, describing the attacks as a response to the deaths of American service members during the conflict.
Speaking to reporters after returning to Washington from the FIFA World Cup final, Trump said the U.S. had hit Iran “very hard again tonight” in honor of the fallen troops. He stated that the death toll was “probably three” and described those killed as “great patriots.”
Trump expressed sympathy for the families of the service members and reiterated that the military campaign is aimed at ensuring “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon,” emphasizing that the United States would continue its efforts to counter the Iranian threat.
