WASHINGTON, Nov 18, (Xinhua): US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he plans to sell F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, one day before Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's visit to the White House. "We will be doing that," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. "We will be selling F-35s."

"They have been a great ally," Trump said of the Saudis. Currently, Israel is the only country in the Middle East with the F-35 jets, which reportedly cost 100 million US dollars apiece as one of the most advanced fighter jets in the world. CNN reported that the US Congress could block export licenses for the F-35s to Saudi Arabia, though it is unusual.
