Trump Says Iranian Regime Would “Give Up in 2 Seconds” If People Were Armed

WASHINGTON, Apr 6: Shortly after state media reported that Iran had rejected a ceasefire proposal, US President Donald Trump issued a sharp warning to Tehran.

Speaking to reporters during the White House Easter Egg Roll hosted by him and First Lady Melania Trump, he said, “They just don’t want to say ‘uncle.’ They don’t want to cry uncle, as the expression goes, but they will. And if they don’t, they’ll have no bridges. They’ll have no power plants. They’ll have nothing.”

He added a further warning, saying, “I won’t go further because there are other things that are worse than those two.”

US President Donald Trump said that the Iranian population is currently unable to challenge the ruling system because they lack access to weapons and face threats of being shot if they protest.

Speaking to reporters, Trump claimed that many Iranians are frustrated when there are no bombings, saying this is due to warnings that protests could be met with immediate force.

He added that, in his view, Iranians would “fight back” if they were not afraid of repression and had access to weapons, arguing that even limited armament would change the balance of power inside the country.

Trump further suggested that Iran would “give up in two seconds” if the population were able to resist effectively, asserting that the current situation prevents meaningful internal opposition.

He also said, "Hopefully it (the Iran war) can be over quickly. We have many alternatives we could leave right now, and it would take them 15 years to rebuild what they have. We could leave right now, but I want to finish it up," US President Donald Trump told reporters on Monday.

"Unfortunately, the American people would like to see us come home. If it were up to me, I'd take the oil, keep the oil, and we'd make plenty of money. And I'd also take care of the people of Iran much better than they've been taken care of," Trump said.
