WASHINGTON, May 12: US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Iran would “100%” halt uranium enrichment and abandon any pursuit of nuclear weapons, despite ongoing stalled talks between Washington and Tehran.
Speaking in a radio interview, Trump said he had been directly engaged with Iranian officials and expressed confidence that an agreement would be reached, adding that the United States was in no rush to finalize a deal and maintained leverage through existing measures.
Meanwhile, Iran has filed a complaint against the United States at the Hague Court of Arbitration, according to Tasnim news agency. The case cites US military actions targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, along with sanctions and alleged threats of force.
