WASHINGTON/DOHA, Jun 29: US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Iran had requested a meeting, with high-level talks set to take place in Doha on Tuesday as efforts continue to address Tehran's nuclear program.

"Iran has requested a meeting. It will take place tomorrow in Doha," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Earlier in the day, the US president reiterated his administration's position on Iran's nuclear ambitions, declaring: "IRAN WILL NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!"

The White House confirmed that US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and presidential adviser Jared Kushner will travel to the Qatari capital for the discussions.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said the two officials would participate in high-level meetings while technical discussions would also take place on the sidelines.

"Special Envoy Witkoff and Jared Kushner will be flying to Doha for high-level meetings this week, as we continue to discuss the memorandum of understanding," Leavitt told Fox News.

She added that technical-level talks would accompany the high-level discussions, signaling continued diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran following recent tensions in the region.

The expected meeting comes as the United States and Iran seek to advance negotiations under a memorandum of understanding aimed at addressing key issues, including Iran's nuclear program and broader regional security concerns.
