Trump Says Iran Agreed to Long-Term Nuclear Inspections

WASHINGTON, Jun 23: US President Donald Trump said Iran has agreed to long-term, high-level nuclear inspections, describing the commitment as a condition for any further negotiations.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Iran had “fully and completely agreed” to the “highest level” of nuclear inspections “long into the future,” adding that the arrangement would ensure what he called “nuclear honesty.”

“If they did not agree to this, there would be no further negotiations,” Trump wrote.

Trump also said he had agreed to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and avoid a renewed naval blockade. However, he noted that US ships would remain in position in case the blockade needed to be restored.

He added that funds and sanctions relief released by the US Treasury would be placed in a US-controlled escrow account. According to Trump, the money would be used only to purchase food and medical supplies from the United States, including corn, wheat and soybeans.

“The money and/or sanctions that the US Treasury is releasing goes into escrow, controlled by the USA, and will be used for the purchase of food and medical supplies, exclusively from the United States,” Trump said.
