Trump says intel chief Tulsi Gabbard 'a little bit softer' than him on Iran nuclear issue

WASHINGTON, March 30: U.S. President Donald Trump indicated there are differing views within his administration on how to handle Iran’s nuclear ambitions, describing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard as “a little bit softer” than him on the issue.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One after returning to Washington from his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, Trump emphasized his firm stance against Iran acquiring nuclear weapons, while acknowledging Gabbard’s differing perspective.

“She's a little bit different in her thought process than me,” Trump said, adding that such differences do not affect her ability to serve. “I’m very strong on the fact that I don’t want Iran to have a nuclear weapon… I think she’s probably a little bit softer on that issue, but that’s okay.”

Despite the apparent اختلاف in approach, Trump suggested that diplomatic progress may be underway, hinting that a potential deal to curb Tehran’s nuclear program could be close.

The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing international efforts to limit Iran’s nuclear capabilities, with Washington continuing to balance diplomatic engagement and security concerns.
