Trump posts map labeling Strait of Hormuz as ‘Trump Strait’

WASHINGTON, Sept 26 : US President Donald Trump posted an image on his Truth Social platform labeling the Strait of Hormuz as “Trump Strait,” offering a glimpse of his response to Iran’s latest proposal amid ongoing tensions over the strategically important waterway.

The post came after Iran proposed a new deal that included reopening the Strait of Hormuz and resuming nuclear talks in exchange for Washington lifting its blockade of Iranian ports.

The White House said Friday that US officials were engaged in “positive and constructive” discussions with mediators over the Iran war.

Iran and the United States held several hours of indirect talks earlier in the week as diplomatic efforts continued to address the conflict and the status of the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump’s post did not include an accompanying explanation of the map or indicate whether the “Trump Strait” label represented any formal US policy.
