Trump Declares War ‘Pretty Much Complete’ - Considers Taking Control of Strait of Hormuz

NEW YORK, Mar 9: President Donald Trump stated today that the ongoing war, launched on February 28, is progressing “very far ahead of schedule” and is “very complete, pretty much,” according to CBS News White House reporter Weijia Jiang, who shared his phone interview comments on X. Trump remarked that the opposing side “has no navy, no communications, they’ve got no Air Force,” even as rising oil and gasoline prices fueled by the conflict spark international concern. He had previously predicted the war would last about four weeks.

When asked about the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping lane, Trump told Jiang that ships continue to transit the area normally. However, he added that he is “thinking about taking it over,” raising questions about potential U.S. moves in the region.

The comments come as energy markets remain volatile, with world leaders expressing alarm over the economic fallout from the war now in its sixth week. The White House has not yet elaborated on Trump’s statements.
