WASHINGTON, Nov 4: US President Donald Trump on Wednesday blamed Fox News for Republican losses in the midterm elections, accusing the conservative-leaning television network of undermining Republican candidates by giving airtime to Democrats and political opponents.

“Fox News bears responsibility for these losses by constantly and consistently putting on the Democrat opposition, and worse,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.

Trump specifically criticized the network for featuring former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, questioning why Fox News had allowed him to appear and offer views on how the country should be governed.

He claimed that de Blasio had left office “in disgrace” and questioned why the former Democratic mayor continued to receive airtime on the network.

Trump has repeatedly criticized Fox News personalities, commentators and editorial decisions that he believes have diverged from his political positions, including during the 2026 midterm election campaign.

His latest remarks came after Republicans suffered significant setbacks in the midterm elections, with Democrats projected by US media to win control of the Senate and appearing to be on course to secure a majority in the House of Representatives.

If Democrats ultimately control both chambers of Congress, Trump could face major obstacles in advancing his legislative agenda during the remainder of his presidential term, while congressional investigations and oversight of his administration could also intensify.
