WASHINGTON, Sept 18: US President Donald Trump on Friday announced that CNN, MS NOW and Politico would be barred from the White House, accusing the outlets of repeatedly publishing what he described as “fake news” about his administration.

Trump made the announcement in a post on Truth Social, saying the ban was effective immediately. He also warned that other media outlets could face similar restrictions.

“Media Outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America,” Trump wrote.

Trump also accused Politico of receiving an $8 million government subscription under former President Joe Biden, describing the payment as “illegal” and alleging it amounted to corruption. The claim was presented by Trump without supporting evidence in his post.

CNN, MS NOW and Politico had not immediately responded to requests for comment, according to Reuters.

The announcement adds to Trump's long-running disputes with major US news organizations and raises questions about access to the White House press operation. The White House had not immediately provided further details on how the ban would be implemented.
