ABU DHABI, May 14: From a local contractor founded in 2009 to one of the UAE’s fastest-growing construction companies, Trojan Construction Holding has become a major force shaping the region’s infrastructure landscape.

In an interview with Arab Times, Ziad Abdallah, CEO of Trojan Property Investment, shared insights into the company’s growth journey, the future of Gulf construction, and how technology and sustainability are reshaping the sector.

“What distinguishes Trojan Construction Holding from other major construction firms in the region is our ability to deliver turnkey projects under one roof,” Ziad said.

“Trojan Construction Group was established in 2009 as a small construction company. In a short period, we have grown into one of the leading construction companies in the UAE and are now recognized as one of the fastest-growing firms in the region.”

Abdallah explained that Trojan’s key advantage lies in its integrated business model.

“Trojan is essentially a one-stop shop for construction solutions. We have around nine subsidiaries that allow us to deliver various construction packages in-house, including infrastructure, MEP services, and other major components.”

The company also operates its own factories producing key construction materials, strengthening efficiency and quality control.

“This gives us a competitive edge in pricing, project delivery timelines, and quality. Together, these strengths position Trojan as a fully integrated construction company.”

Landmark projects across the UAE

Trojan has contributed to several major developments across the UAE, including the Zayed National Museum, Abu Dhabi airport developments, the upcoming Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, and major drainage and bridge infrastructure projects.

Abdallah credited the company’s rapid expansion to its leadership and workforce.

“We have built the company on a strong foundation supported by a highly experienced and dedicated team.”

He also highlighted the role of Chairman Engineer Mohammad Al Amri, Group CEO Ahmed Al Shamsi, and Deputy Group CEO Hamad Khan.

“We take great pride in our staff because they are the backbone of our success.”

According to Ziad, Trojan has expanded beyond the UAE into Saudi Arabia and parts of Europe, further strengthening its regional footprint.

Gulf construction boom far from over

Looking ahead, Ziad believes the Gulf construction sector is entering a new phase driven by infrastructure demand, sustainability goals, and advanced technologies.

“There will always be opportunities in this region because demand for infrastructure continues to grow. Today, there is a stronger focus on sustainability and advanced infrastructure development, with many large-scale projects underway.”

He added that the next five years could bring even greater expansion across the GCC.

“I believe the construction industry will continue to expand significantly over the next five years, and there is still enormous potential for growth. At Trojan, we want to be part of that growth story.”

Embracing AI and robotics

As construction companies worldwide adapt to digital transformation, Trojan is investing in technology-driven solutions to improve productivity and efficiency.

“We are focused on becoming more efficient and enhancing quality standards. At the same time, we are exploring robotics, artificial intelligence, and other advanced technologies to improve operations.”

Ziad believes technology will reshape how projects are delivered across the region.

“Bringing technology into construction will help accelerate project delivery and better support the region’s future development.”

A family culture driving success

Despite its rapid growth, Ziad said Trojan continues to maintain a strong people-first culture.

“Within Trojan, we work as one family, and I believe that culture is a major part of our success.”

As the UAE continues positioning itself as a global hub for infrastructure innovation and smart urban development, Trojan Construction Holding aims to remain at the center of that transformation.

“Our aspiration is to contribute not only to the growth of the UAE economy, but also to the progress of other countries across the region,” Ziad said.

Tiny edits, fewer repeated “growth,” “region,” and “construction” mentions. Humans really do write like they’re being paid per adjective sometimes.
