Trio denied bail for ‘producing’ misleading clip

KUWAIT CITY, March 26: A judicial ruling denied bail for two citizens and a Colombian accused of producing a video, which disseminated wrong information, disparaged current affairs and compromised national interests, reports Al-Seyassah daily. These individuals will be in detention as the investigation proceeds. This came after the Cybercrime Department and State Security Service at the Interior Ministry jointly apprehended the suspects.

The arrests followed the discovery of a viral social media video featuring provocative content and inaccurate data intended to spark public disturbance. The legal charges filed against them include propagating false news, detrimentally impacting public welfare, and improperly using communication technology.
