Trigger-happy man held

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 18: The security authorities have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti and referred him to the General Administration of Weapons Investigation for possessing an unlicensed firearm and firing in populated areas and endangering the lives of the residents of the area, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the security authorities referred the man to the Forensics Department for a blood sample to know if is consuming drugs.

The arrest of the citizen came after he allegedly fired two shots from his pistol in the suburb of Jaber Al-Ali near a mosque and after receiving information police rushed to the spot and hearing the sound of the siren the suspect allegedly entered a mosque.

The security men followed the man inside the mosque and found him hiding. After searching him and the car, police found the pistol. On the other hand, a security source told the daily the Jahra investigators have arrested a Kuwaiti whose brother had filed a complaint accusing the man of shooting at him in the Saad Al-Abdullah area.

When confronted, the suspect denied the allegation but after examining the site of the incident police were convinced that the shooting had happened. Police are now looking for the gun that was used in the incident. Earlier the daily had reported that an unidentified Kuwaiti had filed a report with the area police station accusing his brother of shooting at him two times following a dispute between them in the Saad Al-Abdullah area, Block 2.
