KUWAITI CITY, Dec 5: An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale was recorded in western Iran and was felt by many residents in Kuwait, according to the Kuwait National Seismic Network at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research.
The network reported in a press statement that the earthquake occurred at 7:20 a.m. Kuwait time on Thursday, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was located 273 kilometers away from Kuwait City.
The network also detected two aftershocks in the same area. The first aftershock, with a magnitude of 5.2, occurred at 7:23 a.m., while the second, measuring 5.0, was recorded at 8:38 a.m., both at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Many citizens and residents across Kuwait reported feeling the tremors.
