KUWAIT CITY, July 14: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Sunday started receiving requests from domestic workers to transfer their residencies from Article 20 to Article 18. This move is based on a decision issued by PAM to allow domestic workers to transfer their residency under Article 20 to private sector work residency under Article 18 for two months starting from Sunday, July 14.
The decision set three conditions for the approval of the transaction - the attendance of the employer in person, the approval of the Ministry of Interior’s General Department for Residency Affairs after verifying that the sponsor of the domestic worker has agreed to transfer the residency, and presentation of documents to prove that the applicant stayed in Kuwait for at least one year.
