PARIS, Apr 27: Transavia France has announced the cancellation of a number of flights scheduled for May and June, citing rising aviation fuel costs linked to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. In a statement issued late Sunday, the airline—part of the Air France-KLM—said the “current geopolitical context in the Middle East and its repercussions on the price of aviation fuel” had forced the decision. French media reported that the cancellations account for less than 2% of the airline’s planned operations for May and June. The airline added that affected passengers will be offered options including a full refund, travel voucher, or free rebooking, with most alternatives being processed within 24 hours of cancellation notification.
