KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14: Based on instructions from the Director of the General Traffic Department Major General Yousef Al-Khadda to intensify traffic presence in all governorates and arrest violators and outlaws, officers of the General Traffic Department were able to issue 22,000 traffic citations, impound 98 vehicles, and deal with 1,818 traffic accidents, including 187 serious accidents.

The weekly statistics of the General Traffic Department showed that the department issued 22,678 traffic citations, impounded 135 vehicles and 11 motorcycles, referred 34 people to the traffic police, seized 98 judicially wanted vehicles, referred 22 juveniles to the juvenile prosecution, and caught 19 residency law violators. Also, 24 arrests were made and two people were seized in an abnormal condition.

A security source affirmed that traffic campaigns will continue in all governorates to control the traffic situation and deter reckless motorists.
