Swiss Ambassador to Kuwait H.E Tiziano Balmelli
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 29: Kuwait City will host the inaugural ‘Swiss-Kuwaiti Business Days 2026’ on Feb 3-4, coinciding with the celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Kuwait and Switzerland. A high-level delegation of Swiss companies is expected to participate.
Swiss Ambassador to Kuwait Tiziano Balmelli said the event is a reflection of the “dynamism” in the economic partnership between the two nations. He emphasized that bilateral relations, formally established in 1966, are built on mutual trust and shared values. He added that commercial, social and cultural ties predate the formal diplomatic establishment, thanks to the pioneering Kuwaitis. Balmelli stressed that the business sector has always been the “cornerstone” of this partnership. Swiss companies in Kuwait are known for their reputation of quality, reliability and long-term commitment, while Kuwait’s openness to innovation and financial stability encourages foreign investment.
The Swiss companies attending the event are eager to broaden cooperation and explore new opportunities in both markets.
Patrick Tran, Chairman of the Swiss- Kuwaiti Business Platform affirmed that the goal of organizing the Business Days is to “build bridges, not barriers.” He pointed out that Kuwait and Switzerland share a culture of excellence, a longterm vision and trust. Tran pointed out that the platform’s primary aim is not immediate deal closure but rather to align visions and build sustainable partnerships.
The event aims to unite economic leaders focused on sustainable growth and purposeful innovation, placing human relations at the heart of economic cooperation to turn dialogue into practical opportunities. Faisal Al-Mutawa, head of the platform’s Kuwait branch, stated that hosting the event underscores the “strength and maturity” of relations, particularly on the economic level. He reiterated that the partnership is built on decades of trust, common values and human relations.
