Top MoH officials accused of squandering funds

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 1: Ministry of Health has filed two reports at the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority against three former officials and one current employee who are suspected of squandering public funds on two schemes related to new hospital expansion projects signed between the ministry and construction companies, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting reliable sources from the ministry.

They explained that one of the reports concerns the Farwaniya Hospital expansion project, which was signed in September 2014, at a cost of KD 265 million, and the other report concerns Adan Hospital expansion project, which was signed in late March 2015, at an estimated cost of KD 232 million. Those included in the reports are three former assistant undersecretaries and the current director of a health zone affiliated to the Ministry of Health.
