Top badminton stars compete in IBAK tourney

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: The highly anticipated international badminton tournament of 2023, the Kuwait Badminton Challenge, organized by the Indian Badminton Association- Kuwait (IBAK), kicked off at the association’s Salwa badminton court Wednesday evening. The event, which was inaugurated by the chief guest, the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, HE Dr Adarsh Swaika, accompanied by Second Secretary, (Political, Information, Culture and Community Affairs & Associations) Nikhil Kumar, captivated badminton enthusiasts and showcased the remarkable skills of international badminton stars in the Kuwait region.

The tournament, spanning three days, is poised to delight badminton aficionados in Kuwait with an impressive lineup of top-ranking international stars from India, Malaysia, the Middle East, and Kuwait. Partaking in the event, featuring both team and open categories, will be over 40 international players alongside local talents from Kuwait.

In its 8th edition, the event is anticipated to be another accolade for the Indian Badminton Association- Kuwait (IBAK), garnering support from prominent corporate entities in Kuwait. The defending champions and six-time winners, IBAK All Stars, will strive to defend their title against five other formidable teams in the team event category. The open category will witness players competing for top honors across six disciplines: Elite Men’s Doubles, Men’s Singles, Professional Men’s Doubles, Advanced Men’s Doubles, Intermediate Doubles (exclusive to IBAK members), Above 50 Men’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles categories.
