Tomooh Sports Club and Special Olympics Kuwait kick off the Ramadan health program

KUWAIT CITY, March 18: Kuwaiti Tomooh Sports Club for Mental Disabilities, in collaboration with Special Olympics Kuwait, has launched the “Your Health in Your Step 4” Ramadan health sports program. This program involves the participation of 70 male and female players with mental disabilities across various age groups and will run until April 4th at the Capital Mall.

Before commencing the program, all participants underwent a weight measurement. Each participant is required to walk 3 km per day as part of the program’s activities. At the program’s conclusion, participants’ weights will be reassessed, and prizes will be awarded to the top three individuals in both the boys’ and girls’ categories who achieve the highest weight loss. Additionally, all participants will be honored for their participation.

Hana Al-Zawawi, Treasurer of the Tomooh Sports Club and President of Special Olympics Kuwait expressed her delight at the strong turnout of players for the program, now in its fourth consecutive year. She noted the positive impact the program has had in previous editions on participants’ health, and physical and mental fitness, as well as its fostering of a competitive yet supportive environment alongside health and awareness activities. Al-Zawawi extended her gratitude to both the club and Special Olympics management for their dedication and efforts in ensuring the success of the program
