ABU DHABI, Mar 14: The United Arab Emirates’ air defence systems successfully intercepted nine ballistic missiles and 33 drones launched from Iran on March 14, officials confirmed.
This latest incident adds to a series of attacks targeting the UAE, which has been under repeated assault from Iranian-backed forces. Since the beginning of these hostilities, UAE air defences have neutralized a total of 294 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,600 drones aimed at the country.
Authorities emphasized that these defensive operations have been critical in protecting civilian areas and strategic infrastructure. The UAE government continues to urge residents to remain vigilant and follow official guidance while avoiding the spread of unverified reports.
The Ministry of Defence reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s airspace and condemned the attacks as violations of international law and UAE sovereignty.
This escalation highlights ongoing tensions in the region and the continued importance of robust defence measures to ensure public safety and stability.
