KUWAIT CITY, March 15: Customs officers of the Southern Ports Administration, Mina Shuaiba, foiled the attempt to smuggle 292,000 packets of tobacco which were neatly hidden among gallons of paste in two 40-feet containers coming from an Asian country, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The security sources said 125,410 thousand sachets were found in one container and in the second container approximately 166,260 thousand sachets.The consumption of tobacco is forbidden in Kuwait because it is considered a kind of drug and usually results in throat cancer and other internal diseases. The daily did not say if the importers have been arrested or if any action has been taken.
