KUWAIT CITY, April 23: The much awaited football tournament for kids from constituent alumni associations of Kuwait Engineers Forum (KEF) was conducted by College of Engineering Trivandrum Alumni Association (CETAA) on April 6, 2018 at Classico Football Ground, Ahmadi.The preliminary league matches witnessed excellent contests between KEA, MACE, TKM & CETAA. The kids played like seasoned footballers and the resultant contests were a treat to the eye. Both the opening matches were evenly contested as the results suggest (KEA vs MACE; 0-0 and CETAA vs TKM; 2-2).Subsequent matches saw TKM get the better off KEA with a thumping 5-2 victory while CETAA lost to MACE by a narrow margin of 0-1. An evenly contested match between CETAA & KEA ended in a draw (3-3) while MACE got the better ofTKM with a 2-1 victory.Nidhin Jojan (MACE), Kurian (CETAA), Anuj (TKM), Ivin Isaac (MACE), Ansel (KEA) & Nidhin (MACE) were adjudged “Player of the match” for their superb performance in league matches. Based on points standing at the end of league phase, TKM & last year’s champions, MACE earned for themselves a well-deserved place in the Finals. The Finals saw superb perfonnances by Sravan, Aakash, Anuj & Aaron of TKM.They had reserved their best for the Finals and made amends for their loss to MACE in the league phase by carving out a superb 3-1 victory. For his tireless efforts, Sravan was adjudged Player of the Match. George Abraham (KEA) and Kurian Thomas (CETAA) who displayed oodles of talent were adjudged Promising players.The trophy for Most Promising Player of the Tournament went to Nidhin (MACE) for his stunning footballing skills & tenacious performance. Aaron (TKM) was adjudged the Best Goal Keeper while the trophy for Player of the Tournament went to Anuj (TKM) for his outstanding performance. The Trophies & Medals were distributed by Suresh C Pillai, CEO, Mark Technologies Co and CETAA President, Mathew George. Zumtobel group were the main sponsors of the Tournament with other sponsors being National Contracting Company, Mark Technologies Co, Hydrotek Engineering Co & Victor Badminton Academy.
