LOS ANGELES, March 13, (Agencies); Leah Smith, a renowned TikTok personality celebrated for chronicling her health journey and challenging battle against cancer, has passed away at the age of 22.

The heartbreaking news was conveyed on Monday through a TikTok video shared by her boyfriend, Andrew. In the emotional post, he announced, “I’m saddened to inform you that she departed today around half-eleven this morning. I just want to express gratitude to everyone. Your comments truly made a difference. She did read every single one of them.”

Andrew went on to convey heartfelt appreciation, stating, “To everyone who ever said anything kind, it means more than you realize. Although we’ll all feel the absence of Leah, we’re committed to ensuring she is never forgotten.”

Leah, with a substantial following of over 525,000 on TikTok, utilized her platform to openly document her journey with Ewing Sarcoma, a type of cancer primarily affecting bones and surrounding soft tissues, commonly found in children and young adults. Her journey commenced in 2019, achieving remission after initial treatment, only to face a resurgence of the illness in 2022.

In January, Leah shared a poignant post detailing the toll cancer had exacted on her health and overall well-being. The subsequent month brought the disheartening revelation that the cancer had spread to other parts of her body.

During the days leading up to her passing, updates from Leah’s brother, Liam, and another close friend were shared, explaining that the combination of her pain medication and the severity of her illness prevented her from providing updates personally.
