‘Tighten penalties for traffic violations’

KUWAIT CITY, May 22: Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Dousari held a meeting with the relevant leaders in the ministry during which they reviewed the recommendations of the committee 383/2017 concerned with review of the traffic law No. 67/1976, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The meeting was attended by Director-General of Investigations Department Major General Dr Fahad Al-Dousari, Assistant Undersecretary for Operations Affairs Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Fahad Al-Shuwa’ie, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs Brigadier Faraj Al-Riesman and Acting Director-General of Public Relations and Security Media Department Brigadier Tawheed Al-Kandari.

They stressed the need to tighten punishments for traffic violations due to the negative phenomena witnessed on the roads such as dangerous stunt performances by some motorists that endanger the lives of road users. They also discussed the new traffic bill and took decisions that contribute to preserving traffic safety on the roads.
