KUWAIT CITY, Feb 2: The Kuwait Meteorological Department on Monday forecast scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity across the country on Tuesday afternoon, continuing into the evening.
Acting Director of the department Dharar Al-Ali told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that weather maps, pressure distributions, and numerical models indicate Kuwait will be affected Monday evening by the extension of a surface low-pressure system, coinciding with an upper-level low-pressure system accompanied by a warm and humid air mass. This will lead to an increase in low- and mid-level cloud cover.
Al-Ali said southeasterly winds are expected to shift to northwesterly, reaching speeds of up to 45 kilometers per hour, while sea waves may rise to more than six feet.
He noted that weather conditions are expected to gradually improve after midnight on Tuesday, with cloud cover thinning and chances of rainfall decreasing.
According to the forecast, maximum temperatures on Tuesday will range between 28 and 30 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures will be between 10 and 12 degrees. Al-Ali added that temperatures are expected to drop on Wednesday, with highs ranging from 21 to 23 degrees Celsius and lows between 9 and 11 degrees.
