Three-team chase for Qadsia at the Under-20 League summit

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 10: Qadsia returned to winning ways in the Ooredoo /Aura Under-20 League after a dominant 8–1 victory over Jahra in the 10th round of the competition.

The win came after Qadsia’s first setbacks of the season, having lost 2–0 to Salmiya and drawn 1–1 with Khaitan following a run of seven straight wins.

Qadsia raised its points tally to 25, while Jahra remained on 10 points in 11th place.

The league, featuring 14 clubs, is played in a single round under a centralized format before the teams are split into two groups: eight in the first division and six in the second division.

Qadsia faces close pursuit from Kazma, Al-Arabi, and Sahel.

Kazma kept the gap at two points with a 2–0 win over Shabab, leaving the latter on six points in 12th place. Al-Arabi defeated Yarmouk 4–1 to move up to 22 points in third place, while Yarmouk slipped to sixth with 18 points.

Sahel edged Khaitan 1–0 in a tight contest to draw level with Al-Arabi in third place, with Khaitan remaining on 13 points.

Kuwait Club climbed to fifth place with 19 points after a convincing 4–0 victory over Fahaheel, who stayed eighth on 13 points.

Salmiya also secured a comfortable 3–0 win over Sulaibikhat, lifting its tally to 16 points in seventh place, while Sulaibikhat remained on 10 points.

In the final match of the round, Sporty collected its first point of the season after a 3–3 draw with Al-Nasr, but remained bottom of the table, while Al-Nasr stayed 13th with three points.
