RIYADH, Oct 9: Three Saudi citizens were killed and several others injured in two attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport facilities and a Saudia aircraft, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said on Friday.

The attacks took place on Thursday, October 8. The injured included Saudi citizens and residents of various nationalities, with injuries ranging from minor to critical, GACA said. Hospitals treated all injured people.

The attacks also caused property damage. Emergency response teams and relevant authorities responded immediately, while damage assessment and safety checks continued in coordination with the concerned agencies.

GACA confirmed that airport operations had resumed and air traffic had returned to normal. It said measures were being taken to ensure the safety of passengers and personnel and maintain the security of the Kingdom’s civil aviation system.
