Three Arabs arrested in murder of Jleeb Indian – ‘Souk Haramiya’ lead crucial

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 21: Plainclothesmen from the Farwaniya Criminal Investigation Department have arrested the suspects in the murder of an Indian in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, reports Al-Rai daily. According to security sources police have in their custody three suspects — an Omani, a Syrian and a non-Kuwaiti — all of them believed to be juveniles.

The suspects have been referred to the Juvenile Prosecution pending further investigation. A security source told the daily the arrest came 40 days after the victim was found murdered in Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh behind the telecommunication center following which a case had been registered at the area police station.

A Forensic report showed the Indian had died of stab wounds. He was reportedly returning home from work when the trio attacked him and stole his mobile and money. The suspects then carried out their theft operation is Khaitan, Farwaniya and Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. The arrest of the suspects came when an Egyptian was found using the phone number which the suspects had stolen from the Indian and during interrogation the Egyptian gave police information about the person from whom he had bought the mobile from the Haramiya Market in Hassawi.

The plainclothesmen then started looking for the person who had sold the mobile to the Egyptian based on description provided by the latter. In the meantime police received information that an unidentified person was being robbed by some goons and when police rushed to the spot, they managed to arrest the Syrian while the others escaped. During interrogation the Syrian admitted to committing many crimes and also admitted to his role in the murder of the Indian. He then led police to the other two accomplices the 22-year-old Omani and the 16-year-old non-Kuwaiti
