Thousands of Violations Recorded as Kuwait Police Crack Down on Crime and Traffic Offenses

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 19: As part of their ongoing commitment to maintain public safety, law enforcement authorities in Kuwait have intensified operations across all governorates, achieving significant results in both security and traffic management.

The General Department of Rescue Police, under the Traffic and Operations Sector, reported the arrest of 100 wanted individuals, including those sought for criminal offenses, absconding cases, and residency-related violations. Authorities also seized 51 vehicles linked to judicial warrants and apprehended 24 individuals without proper identification. Rescue teams intervened to break up 13 quarrels, handled 206 traffic accidents, and responded to four pedestrian run-over cases and two reports of suspicious activity. Meanwhile, traffic patrols recorded 4,016 various traffic violations during the campaign period.

In parallel, the Traffic Affairs and Operations Sector conducted intensive campaigns to enforce traffic laws, resulting in 37,263 traffic violations being recorded. During these operations, authorities seized 99 vehicles and 43 motorcycles for violating traffic regulations. The campaigns led to the arrest of 91 individuals with expired residency, 25 without identification documents, and 35 wanted persons for legal or absconding cases. Additionally, 62 vehicles linked to judicial warrants were impounded, two individuals were arrested for abnormal behavior, two were referred to the Anti-Narcotics Department, and nine street vendors were apprehended. Traffic patrols also responded to 3,507 reports, including 238 accidents involving injuries and 1,477 collision incidents.

Both departments emphasized their dedication to professional, disciplined enforcement and reaffirmed their commitment to protecting lives and property, maintaining traffic discipline, and ensuring security and stability across the State of Kuwait.
