KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: Kuwait's Ministry of Interior has reiterated strict legal penalties for anyone found planting narcotic or psychotropic substances on another person with the intent of falsely accusing them or concealing the substances without the victim’s knowledge. According to the warning issued by the Ministry of Interior, such crimes are punishable by imprisonment for up to 15 years and a fine ranging from KD 10,000 to KD 20,000.
The law applies in cases where the act results in the victim’s arrest, the discovery of drugs in their possession, pre-trial detention, or formal charges being filed by the competent investigative authority. Authorities stressed that fabricating drug-related accusations is a serious criminal offense and vowed strict enforcement to protect individuals from malicious acts and ensure justice.
The Ministry urged the public to adhere to the law and report any attempts to exploit or falsely implicate others in criminal cases.
