The world mourns over Kuwait’s Amir passing

Saudi Arabia
Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammad bin Salman offered condolences to the State of Kuwait and both Arab and Muslim nations over the passing away of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah. The kingdom prayed to Allah the Almighty to bestow mercy upon the late Amir’s soul and to grant the people of Kuwait further patience. Egypt
Egypt mourned the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who passed away earlier on Saturday, and announced three days of mourning nationwide. “President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi and the people of Egypt mourn the late leader and the great man, who supported both Arab and Muslim nations, was keen on their affairs, wise in his leadership, and who offered great dedication to his country and both Arab and Muslim nations,” according to a presidential statement. Lebanon declared official mourning for the death of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah. This came in a statement issued by Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, which included the declaration of official mourning and that flags would be flown at half-mast at all official departments, institutions, and municipalities for a period of three days from Saturday to Monday, December 18. He prayed to Allah the Almighty to bless the late His Highness the Amir with mercy and place him in paradise.

India

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conveyed his condolences on the demise of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the Royal family, the leadership and the people of Kuwait. “Deeply saddened to learn about the unfortunate demise of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. We convey our deepest condolences to the Royal family, the leadership and the people of Kuwait,” Modi posted on his official account in X. Meanwhile, the government of India decided to observe one day’s state mourning tomorrow throughout India as a mark of respect to the departed soul. “The National Flag will be flown at half-mast throughout India on all buildings where it is flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment on the day,” the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs said in a statement.

Pakistan
Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwaar ul Haq Kakar on Saturday has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Jordan
The Jordanian Royal Court mourned the passing of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah earlier on Saturday. Jordanian King Abdullah also ordered seven days of mourning over the Amir’s death as of today (Saturday), the court said in a statement. The king expressed his deepest sympathies and condolence of the Jordanian people over these difficult times, voicing solidarity with the Kuwaiti people, it added.

Oman mourns

Morino Yasunari, expressed condolences on the demise of HH Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah : “I would like, on behalf of the Government of Japan and its people, to express our most sincere condolences on the demise of HH Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait. We express our heartfelt sympathies with the Ruling Family of Kuwait and its people. We are deeply grieved by the passing of the late Amir who made great contributions with his outstanding leadership and wisdom to the deepening of the relationship between Japan and Kuwait as well as to the peace and prosperity of the world. We wish the soul of the deceased may rest in peace.”

UK saddened over Amir passing away
The UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Saturday offered his deepest condolences to the Kuwaiti people and the Al-Sabah family on the death of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah. In a statement to Kuwait TV and KUNA, Premier Sunak said that His Highness the late Amir was a great friend to the UK and that he will remember fondly all that His Highness the late Amir did for the bilateral relationship and his work to promote stability in the Middle East. The Amiri Diwan announced earlier today the passing away of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf.

The British Government, in a statement, said “with great regret that we learn of the death of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.” It also noted that Union fl ags will be half-masted on all government buildings in the UK on the sad occasion from today until tomorrow (Sunday) at 08:00 p.m. local time. In the same vein, Foreign Minister David Cameron, in a statement, said the late Sheikh Nawaf “leaves behind a great legacy, the result of a long and distinguished career in the Interior Ministry, as Defence Minister, Crown Prince and then as Amir. “His contribution to regional stability, his commitment to global development and his work to bridge gaps between nations will long be remembered. I offer my profound condolences to Kuwait and its people at this sad time.

Iranian Pres. FM condoles with Kuwait
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi expressed condolences to Kuwait leadership and people for the passing away of Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Saturday. Raisi, in a statement cited by the presidency website, extended condolences to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Al- Sabah Family and Kuwaiti people. Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian extended condolences to the Kuwaiti government and people for the death of Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad. The Amiri Diwan of Kuwait announced earlier the death of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad and declared a 40-day mourning.

OIC, WML condoles over Amir’s death
Secretary General of the Organizaiton of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hussein Taha expressed their deepest condolences to the State of Kuwait, Al-Sabah family and Kuwaiti people for the passing of the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The late Amir was a pillar of security and stability in Kuwait and the region, Taha said in a statement. He paid tribute to the late Amir for his contributions to the development, security, stability and prosperity of Kuwait. The World Muslim League also condoled the passing away of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad. Secretary General Mohammad Al-Essa said he received with great sorrow the news of the passing of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad. Kuwait NOC, sport auth. mourn late Amir
Chairman of Kuwait National Olympic Committee Sheikh Fahad Nasser Al-Sabah and Director General of The Public Authority for Sports Yusuf Al- Baidan expressed condolences for the death of the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Saturday. Sheikh Fahad mourned the late Amir and said the sports movement lost a great leader. Al-Baidan expressed condolences of the authorities and sportsmen for the passing away of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Kuwait lost a leader and a father for all Kuwaitis, he said. Bahrain king declares 3-day mourning
Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa extended condolences over the passing away of the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah on Saturday. The Royal Court, in a statement, also declared three days of official mourning and fl ying flags at half-mast as of today (Saturday). The Bahraini king remembered the late Amir’s efforts and achievements in serving his people and both Arab and Islamic nations, and supporting their issues, according to the statement. “He was a wise leader who devoted his life to serving his people and his nation, and serving humanity,” he said, voicing sincere condolences to Al-Sabah Family and the dear people of Kuwait.
