The third round of Kuwait Dressage League commences

An equestrian trains ahead of the commencement of the league third round.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: The third edition of the Kuwaiti Dressage League kicks off today at 2:30 pm at the Hunting and Equestrian Club in the Subhan area. This event, sponsored by the Kuwait Equestrian Federation, witnesses a significant turnout of riders, coinciding with the introduction of new horses and a growing interest in the art of “horse dressage.” The competition spans five levels, ranging from beginner to advance.

Heading the dressage committee of the Kuwait Equestrian Federation is Sheikha Fajr Badr Al-Sabah. The committee comprises Alaa Salem Al-Sultan, Abdullah Al-Awadhi, Nusayba Al-Maousherji, Dana Bouresli, and Abdullah Al-Amer, with technical management led by the internationally experienced Amber Dean Heer.

Sheikha Fajr Badr Al-Sabah expressed, we have already organized two tournaments, and future plans include hosting international referees for training courses. Our technical director has been providing training to both trainers and riders since the season’s onset, emphasizing the correct execution of dressage tests, aiming for international accreditation and maximum points for each required movement.”

Highlighting the significance of dressage, she emphasized its role in equestrianism, focusing on horse taming. The sport aims to teach riders and horses balance, flexibility, and seamless transitions between speeds with minimal effort. Complete obedience from the horse, precision in command execution, and maintaining specific timing and speeds are paramount objectives for every participant. The sport enjoys robust support from various club owners and managements, contributing to its continual growth and development.
