The Kuwait Judo Team Wins Two Bronze Medals in the Asian Open Judo Championship

KUWAIT CITY, April 29: The Kuwaiti Judo team has secured two bronze medals at the Asian Open Judo Championship, which took place over two days and saw the participation of top players from Asia and the world. The championship was organized by the Kuwaiti Judo Federation and featured 27 teams. The event was held at Al-Ittihad Hall in Sabah Al-Salem.

The Kuwaiti team’s victory came through player Ghannam Al-Dikan, who secured third place in the competition (under 100 kilograms), and Hamad Al-Rashed, who won third place in the open weight competition (over 100 kilograms).

The Korean team won the championship after winning 7 gold medals, one silver, and 4 bronze medals in the 16 competitions for various approved weights for men and women. The Kazakhstan team won second place with two gold medals, three silver, and 4 bronze medals, while the Tunisian Arab team achieved third place with two gold medals.

The Secretary of the Kuwait Football Federation, Ahmed Al-Otaibi, praised the technical level of the championship and the high competitiveness of most of its matches. He also expressed his delight in the organizational and technical success of the tournament, as well as the victory of players Al-Dikan and Al-Rashed. Al-Otaibi highlighted that the championship provided an opportunity for the participating Kuwaiti national team players to gain valuable experience.
