The Karate Federation praises achievements of the Kuwaiti team in the 13th Arab Championship

KUWAIT CITY, July 31: The head of the Kuwait Karate Federation, Muhammad Al-Jassem, praised the Kuwait team achievements in the 13th Arab Championship, which concluded on Saturday evening in Egypt. Kuwait won 11 medals (one gold, four silver and six bronze).

Al-Jassem told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after receiving the team’s delegation upon his return to the country, that the Kuwaiti karate players, most of whom are promising youths, managed to achieve a remarkable number of medals in this championship which lasted three days.


He stated that the Kuwaiti national team is preparing to participate in several tournaments in the coming period, foremost of which is the Fifth Islamic Solidarity Sports Games, which will be hosted by the Turkish city of Konya in August praising the support of the Public Sports Authority of the Federation and ensuring good preparation for external benefits.

Faisal Al-Otaibi, said that Kuwaiti players won the gold in the men’s group through Salman Al-Moussawi, Muhammad Al-Musawi and Muhammad Ahmed. Salman Al-Mousawi also won the silver in the same competition for the singles category.


In Womens group competition silver was won by Yasmine Al-Mutawa, Dalal Al-Saeed and Asrar Issa. In the women’s individual competitions, Yasmine Al-Mutawa won the silver medal, and in the men’s individual competitions, weight under 84 kg, Youssef Ahmed won the silver medal. Mohammed Al-Otaibi won the bronze medal in the men’s individual competitions weighing under 60 kg, and Youssef Al-Sarraf won the bronze in the individual competitions in the men’s weight category under 67 kg, in addition to the Kuwaiti players won bronze in the group fight for men.

Salama Al-Sultan won the bronze in the women’s individual fight – under 50 kg, while the player Dalal Al-Saeed won the bronze in the individual fight for women – under 55 kg, Asrar Al-Issa won the bronze in the individual fight in the women’s weight under 61 kg. (KUNA)
