CAIRO, Oct 16: The Arab Parliament (AP), headed by Adel Al-Asousi, on Saturday honored Kuwaiti young girl Ghala Al-Mutairi who had recently taken over as Second Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament for Children. Speaking to KUNA on the occasion, Al- Mutairi said she was proud of having been awarded during the opening session of the second session of the Arab Parliament’s third legislative term, and of having been invited to attend its sittings.

She boasted that Kuwait has always been a “birthplace for creative people”, citing the recent win by three Kuwaiti children of senior posts of the Arab Parliament for Children as a relevant clear-cut paradigm. “Now that the State of Kuwait takes much care of its children, efforts in this regard would ultimately contribute to generating an aware and leading generation, given that today’s child is unquestionably tomorrow’s future,” she said. The Arab Parliament for Children, based in Sharjah in the UAE, is an opportunity for children to express their opinions, issues and needs. It also includes many meetings and various entertainment and enrichment activities. Recommendations of children arising from it are submitted to the Cairo-based League of Arab States for the purpose of discussing them and shedding light on the reality of children’s life in the Arab world., (KUNA)
