Thamer Al-Shaghran wins Ahmad Cup at Hunting & Equestrian Club

Sheikh Sabah Fahad Al-Nasser honors Faisal Al-Ahmad in the presence of Al-Roumi.

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 18:The horse “Thamer Al-Shaghran”, trained by Khaled Al-Deihani and ridden by jockey Hussein Al-Anzi, claimed the prestigious Ahmad Cup for Al-Durra Stable, owned by Faisal Hamoud Al-Ahmad. Competing in the sixth race of the third horse racing meeting at the Hunting & Equestrian Club, Thamer Al-Shaghran covered 1,200 meters in 1:36.47 minutes, delivering a standout performance in the Egyptian Arabian Horses (Mixed C4) category.

The awards ceremony saw Sheikh Sabah Fahad Al-Nasser, Chairman of the Higher Authority for Horse Racing and Secretary of the club, along with Faisal Al-Ahmad and Alaa Hamad Al-Roumi, owner of Al-Raya Stable, present the cup to Al-Deihani Stables. Sheikh Al-Nasser also handed a commemorative shield to Al-Ahmad in recognition of his support for Egyptian horse racing.

Faisal Al-Ahmad praised the event, saying: “We are grateful to the Hunting & Equestrian Club for their tremendous efforts. This race has captured the attention of all horse enthusiasts and is a wonderful start for lovers of purebred Egyptian horses. The coming seasons promise even greater achievements.”

Other notable winners included “Mabrouk”, who took the cup in the seventh race, and “Mudar”, victorious in the fifth race. The Hunting Club Trophy for races one through four went to “The Thunderer”, “Halim”, “Hala Shamma”, and “Shock Wave”, highlighting the depth of talent in the Egyptian Arabian horse racing scene.
