X-Pin D’Bowls trounce NUSANTARA

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: Midway of the elimination round of the Philippine Bowling Association in Kuwait-2018 Invitational Cup held at Cozmo Entertainment and Bowling Center in Kheifan, there was no intrusion in the ‘magic 6’ only changes in ranking and COZMO team kept holding the prime position while Pongky Strikers suffered its first devastating defeat in the hands of Thanks God Im Filipino team who followed them stealthily since week one. Other teams that posted victory were “X” Strikers, X-Pin D’Bowls, COZMO Lane Specialists, TGIF team while Swooping Eagles played bye.

Both teams played with depleted line up, the TGIF ended the winning streak of Pongky Strikers 2829-2657. This is the first time Pongky Strikers played with depleted line up considering the fact that they are one of the weakest team in the present league. In the 3-game series TGIF showed supremacy over their nemesis in the two first games 984-854 and 929-881 but lost the third game due to rashness 891-922. The lucky charm of Pongky Strikers piqued and they faltered to fourth place while the ever-trailing TGIF snatched the second place. The Resto King top scorer was Camilo Baker (541), assisted by Rene Marzan (485), Eddie Pena (460) and Mar Evangelista (455) while Pongky Strikers high scorer was Jess Tolentino (533), Jhon Narvasa (472) and comely Jocelyn Barros (373).

In a contrasting way, the X-Pin D’Bowls trounced NUSANTARA for first win after three successive losses with 2-0-3 record while the Indonesian team fell to 1-1-3. First time to play with complete line up and undermanned rival, the X-Pin prolific bowler Fadi Al Masri scored 531 points supported by Mohammad Karam (482), Saleh Khaled (476), Mohammad Salem (460) and Rudy de Lima (442) while NUSANTARA’s 3-man team were Gantosori Tanjung (480), Erlisa Gantosori (454) and Ahmad Fahmi (365). COZMO played alone without Pin Pals (who requested for extra playing day due to emergency work for their company and TCT granted). The bowlers for Cozmo were Ronnel Valencia (516), Ruben Cervantes (462), Jackie Guitang (416), Ibrahim Dubayan (383), Bader Malalah (311) and Lito Michael (285).

The winless SKARZ sank to the cellar with a 0-1-4 record while “X” Strikers remain holding the fifth position with 2-0-3 record after their struggle with the score of 2892-2512. Rocky Castil top scored with 465 points followed by Cris Carungay (457), Bima Nitikusumo (449), Abel Nitikusumo (431) and Joe Present (439) for the win. For the losing team the keglers were Stephen Sequiera (444), Eden Danan (386), Ignatius Fernandes (338), Lionel Mendes (257), Kathy Fernandes (222) and Fatima Fernandes (217).

Playing bye was the Swooping Eagles and Riz Roque was the top scorer with 520 points followed by Angie Bush (444), Clinton Cathers (432), Jessica Balagat (342), Alonzo Bush (309), Dannny Solis (190) and Mona Corpuz (133). With the big score 3032 the Swooping Eagles landed in the third spot (sharing with Pongky Strikers) from fourth and winning the wsskly high series of 2932 points.
