KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has terminated the contracts for 686 rented houses, known as ‘public houses’, in Sulaibiya and Taima; and the tenants have been advised to vacate these houses starting Monday. Sources revealed this is in response to the request of the Interior Ministry to terminate the contracts for houses that are part of its share, indicating the PAHW notified the ministry about its decision in response to the letters it sent on July 17 and 28.
Sources pointed out that as per the law, the authority is the executive body in charge of real estate rental and housing care. On the other hand, sources confirmed that PAHW approved the technical and financial offers for two tenders to provide consulting services for the management and supervision of the construction and completion of 3,345 houses in Salmi -- an alternative for Sulaibiya and Taima. Sources revealed that four companies submitted their offers for the first tender to provide consulting services for the construction of 1,568 houses; and four other companies for the second tender to provide consulting services for the construction of 1,777 houses.
