KUWAIT CITY, Aug 16: A collaborative operation conducted by three security divisions -- namely the Public Morals Protection Department, Farwaniya Security, and Residence Affairs Investigation -- has culminated in the arrest of ten women of various nationalities for begging, reports Al-Anba daily. These arrests were made across multiple areas -- Farwaniya, Al-Firdous, Abdullah Al-Mubarak, and Al-Jahra. A reliable security source disclosed that all the arrests took place in close proximity to markets and buildings.

The detainees were subsequently subjected to administrative deportation procedures. It was noted that these beggars were found in possession of varying amounts of money, which they admitted were the proceeds from their begging activities. Additionally, measures aimed at non-Kuwaiti sponsors involve the revocation of their guarantees. The Ministry of Interior has issued an appeal to the public, urging them to promptly report any instances of begging they observe via the emergency hotline 112, which operates 24 hours a day to receive reports.
