KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: The official spokesman of the Ministry of Health and the Director of the Health Communication Office Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad launched the medical consultation service for skin diseases within the health care services for bedridden people using “TeleHealth” technology based on video communication. Dr. Al-Sanad explained through messages from the Health Communication Center that more than 4,461 home visits were made as part of the health care service for the bedridden, at a rate of 40-60 visits per week.
About 180,000 cases were received through eight emergency departments at Jaber, Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Al-Amiri, Sabah, Farwaniya, Jahra, Adan hospitals, and the Sabah Al-Ahmad City Emergency Center during January. About 15 percent of these cases suffer from respiratory symptoms. Dr. Al-Sanad highlighted the continued geographical expansion of health facilities, revealing that the second Mutlaa Health Center in the N10 suburb will be opened soon.
He revealed that the Mutlaa Residential City Ambulance Center has dealt with about 100 cases since its operation last November, most of which were road accidents, cases of falling from a height, and fainting cases, adding that Mutlaa Health Center No. 1 in the N11 suburb received more than 70 cases during the first eight working days. Dr. Al-Sanad also announced the operation of the new Abdali Health Center within the next few days. He confirmed that the parking capacity at Jaber Hospital had been increased by 1,230 new parking spaces after parking area No. 2 entered service, thereby bringing the total capacity of parking lots in the hospital to about 5,000.
