TEHRAN, (AP), Mar 22: Crowds surged at supermarkets across Tehran on the second day of Iran’s New Year, as residents rushed to stock up on essentials following renewed threats from Donald Trump to target additional sites in the country. Store workers reported a sharp spike in demand, particularly for water and bread, echoing shortages seen in the early days of the ongoing conflict. A 53-year-old grocery employee said water demand was “very high,” while a 22-year-old delivery driver noted that nearly 90% of his orders since morning were for water. Both individuals spoke on condition of anonymity due to safety concerns, as uncertainty and fears of escalation continue to drive panic buying among residents.
