NEW YORK, June 18: Iconic singer Celine Dion has bravely shared insights into her recent health challenges in the poignant documentary "I Am: Celine Dion." The Grammy winner provides an intimate and emotional portrayal of her ongoing battle with stiff person syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder causing painful spasms and muscle stiffness.

Dion, 56, made a rare public appearance at the film's premiere held at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall. Addressing the audience, she tearfully expressed gratitude to her fans for their unwavering support, particularly after she was compelled to cancel her Las Vegas residency and world tour due to her health issues.

Acknowledging the significance of the moment, Dion compared herself to an apple, expressing her reluctance to disappoint fans if she couldn't offer her best. She recounted a recent message from a fan, emphasizing that they were there for her regardless.

During her emotional speech, Dion was supported by her eldest son, René-Charles Angélil, while expressing appreciation for her other children, twins Eddy and Nelson. She also thanked her neurologist, Dr. Amanda Piquet, and the director of "I Am," Irene Taylor, for their support throughout the documentary's production.

"I Am" offers viewers a revealing glimpse into Dion's daily life with SPS, highlighting its impact on her vocal abilities and overall well-being. The documentary showcases Dion's resilience and humor but also captures her moments of vulnerability as she grapples with managing her condition.
