The Ministry of Education subsequently adopted the initiative, completed its regulatory procedures, and formalized it as an ethical and professional framework governing conduct within the education sector, in line with an existing memorandum of understanding between the two sides on awareness and education. According to the statement, the code establishes a comprehensive framework grounded in honesty, integrity, fairness and transparency. It defines rights and responsibilities, strengthens trust among teachers, students and parents, and supports a more accountable and respectful educational environment, contributing to improved performance and quality outcomes.
Both parties stressed that the code goes beyond a regulatory instrument, serving as a guiding ethical reference that reinforces professional values, promotes positive role models, and supports a school culture aligned with national principles and daily practices rooted in integrity. The initiative also aligns with broader governance and reform efforts, complementing Nazaha’s work in developing professional charters and the Ministry’s drive to enhance institutional compliance and elevate educational standards.
The statement noted that the code supports key Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 on quality education, and is consistent with the United Nations Convention against Corruption in promoting codes of conduct, preventive measures, public awareness and collaboration with civil society. The Ministry of Education commended Nazaha’s leadership in launching and developing the initiative, describing the effort as a successful model of government partnership that strengthens institutional integration and reinforces transparency within educational institutions. For its part, Nazaha praised the Ministry’s swift adoption and formal endorsement of the code, highlighting its commitment to embedding professional values and advancing integrity across the education sector. The two sides concluded by underscoring that investing in teacher ethics is an investment in the nation’s future, reaffirming their commitment to continued cooperation on initiatives that promote integrity, enhance education quality and support sustainable development goals.
