KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6: Teachers and the administrative staff started their work for the new academic year (2026-2027) on Sunday. As the school day began, members of the teaching and administrative staff went to their schools and registered their attendance using the fingerprint system. The areas surrounding several schools experienced limited traffic congestion on the first day of the academic year.

Preparations continue in Ministry of Education schools, amidst intensive efforts to ensure school readiness and provide the students with a suitable learning environment. Abdullah Al-Kandari, Principal of Abdullatif Al-Nisf Intermediate School for Boys, expressed his satisfaction with the early preparations made by the ministry to welcome the new academic year. He confirmed that these preparations are in compliance with the directives of Minister of Education Eng. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaie and in line with the commitment of the ministry to create a suitable and safe learning environment for the students. He pointed out that the start of the work of teachers is significant, given the central role they play in the educational process.

He said this phase includes finalizing the organizational, technical and academic arrangements, as well as reviewing various preparations to ensure the smooth and successful start of the academic year. He commended the tremendous efforts exerted by the sectors and departments at the ministry, along with the educational districts, school administrations, technical and engineering teams, and all concerned parties that worked together to guarantee the readiness of schools and their facilities and to provide the needs for the commencement of classes.

Faisal Al-Mutairi, Principal of Abdullatif Al-Nisf Intermediate School for Boys, confirmed that the school completed its preparations to welcome the new academic year, coinciding with the start of the work of the teaching, thus, ensuring a suitable and stimulating school environment for both the teaching and administrative staff. He stressed that the school administration has been diligently monitoring the maintenance and equipment works, ensuring the readiness of air conditioning units, providing school furniture, and preparing classrooms and school facilities in a way that meets the needs of the students and creates the appropriate atmosphere for a successful academic year. He said the school administration prioritizes providing a safe and organized learning environment and fostering cooperation and communication among all the staff to achieve the desired educational goals. He expressed his sincere wish for continuous success to all members of the teaching and administrative staff, hoping the new academic year will be full of achievements. He wished everyone a successful start and a distinguished educational journey.

It is worth mentioning that the ministry implemented organizational measures and decisions before the start of the academic year, including assigning work locations for transferred employees through the government application ‘Sahel’, based on the needs of the schools for educational and administrative specializations. This step aims to organize the distribution of educational and administrative staff in order to meet the manpower needs of schools and guarantee the smooth flow of the educational process at the start of the new academic year.
