LOS ANGELES, Oct 29, (Agencies): Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar’s connection remains as strong as ever. Shortly after releasing “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” on Friday, the pop icon expressed her gratitude to Lamar for reuniting in the studio to re-record their remix of “Bad Blood,” originally released in 2015, for the deluxe edition of her new project.
Swift, 33, took to Instagram to share her feelings, saying, “Watching @kendricklamar create and record his verses on the Bad Blood remix was one of the most inspiring experiences of my life.” She accompanied her post with a photo of herself and the “Humble” rapper, presumably from around 2015. She continued, “I still look back on this collaboration with so much pride and gratitude, for the ways Kendrick elevated the song and the way he treats everyone around him.”
Even years later, Swift’s fans, known as Swifties, maintain a special bond with the remix. Swift acknowledged this by mentioning, “Every time the crowds on The Eras Tour would chant his line ‘you forgive, you forget, but you never let it… go!’ I smiled.”
Swift also expressed her appreciation for Lamar’s willingness to re-record the remix alongside her. She said, “The fact that Kendrick would go back and re-record ‘Bad Blood’ so that I could reclaim and take ownership of this work that I’m so proud of is surreal and bewildering to me.”
The updated version of the remix is included on the special edition of her most recent project, as Swift joyfully concluded in her Instagram post, “I’m thrilled to announce that the Bad Blood Remix (featuring Kendrick Lamar) is now available on the 1989 Deluxe Edition, everywhere.”
